Video Review
João "Rodo" Abromovich brings us the summer hit from Sync Studios. Featuring two of DoD:S's old school players, Celts and Near go together like bacon and eggs. Having only taken frags from this recent year, it's clear that this dynamic duo can churn out the frags. With Celts and his on point rifling and Near with his one-tap head shots on the heavy, they become an unstoppable force and tear down all who appose them.
Right off the bat Rodo tries to bring a little personality and creativity to the film. Short but sweet, the quote from Celts can be overheard in the back of your mind as you witness the insanity as Near drops one after another after only taking one look a them and firing once. Simply put, the frags are incredible. The editing however could be re-examined as we push for editors to be on point with everything that is to be expected from The Movie Vault. The smooths are fluidly made. The transitions are varied and fit the mood of the video. There weren't many effects throughout the movie, but a sort of simple editing is still a good way to go in some cases. filling the movie with effects doesn't exactly make the movie better. I've been doing this for a while and I must say the song choices were off for me. From reviewing tons of videos, you tend to get bored from listening to the same songs over and over. Seeing that the DoD:S community is a bit out of the loop when it comes to TMV, I let this slide as I feel that DoD:S movie making is still making its way out of the dark ages. Can't complain about the quality of the film. Everything is High quality and it truly makes for a enjoyable watch.
Overall the movie makes the cuts as one of the top DoD:S movies out there. Like I said earlier, DOD:S movie making is nowhere near the the standard that most of these other games are at. Day of Defeat Source Is a dying game, and there's not much support in the area of competitive play. As we strive to bring our game back to a more mainstream medium, we do with what we have when it comes to making movies.
